Select projects GBS has undertaken include:

  • Advised a leading U.S.-based telecommunications company on its acquisitions strategy in Africa, including how to leverage the policy advisory work of the World Bank and other multilateral financial institutions to effectively obtain their objective .

  • Collaborated with senior management of a global telecommunications company in crafting and implementing international market access strategies for a wide variety of the company’s products and services.

  • Advised an African-based financial institution on the structuring and international fund-raising for a $250 million+ pan-African private equity fund.

  • Designed and implemented a government relations and business development strategy for an asset manager specializing in emerging market sovereign clients to expand into eastern and southern Africa.

  • Worked with the CEO of a European-based mining house on developing their acquisition strategy of African assets and executing an international capital-raising campaign.

  • Developed a global partnership strategy for a Fortune 100 Company as part of its Global Public Affairs program at the request of its executive vice president and adviser to the CEO.

  • Collaborated with the founder of a Europe-based house-building not-for-profit on broadening its funding base, expanding its operations in Africa and developing a government relations strategy.

  • Advised the president of an African-based policy institution on strengthening its relationship with private businesses and facilitating greater dialogue between private sector and government policy makers.
